Monthly, annual and setup fees

For recurring work. Show a monthly price, an annual price, a one-off setup cost, or all three on the same answer.

For business owners10 minutesYou need: your recurring pricing

When editing an answer option you can choose the price type rather than only entering a one-off amount. Set it as monthly, annual, or a setup fee, and the results page presents them separately so the customer understands what is recurring and what is not. One answer can now carry setup, monthly and annual together.

  1. Edit the answer option

Open your estimator and find the option you want to price.

  2. Choose the price type and enter your amounts

Open the Select Type dropdown on the answer and pick the price type that fits, then enter the amount. Ranges work here exactly as they do elsewhere, so you can give a minimum and maximum rather than one figure.

Not every price is a one-off.
    TypeUse it for
One-off / RangeThe normal case. A single job, as a fixed amount or a min/max range.
MonthlyMaintenance plans, monitoring, regular service visits
AnnualYearly contracts, or where an annual figure is easier to compare
Setup feeThe one-off cost of starting, alongside the recurring amount
  3. Combine them on one answer if you need to

A plan with a $200 setup and $45 a month is one answer with both attached, rather than two questions the customer has to connect themselves. Choose Multiple Costs as the type, then add each cost with its own type and amount.

Setup, monthly and annual fees combined on a single answer option using Multiple Costs
All of them on one answer.
  4. Preview it as a customer

What good looks like: the results page separates what they pay once from what they pay every month, with no ambiguity about which is which.

Be obvious about what is recurring. The fastest way to sour a good lead is a customer who thought $45 was the whole price. Use the Learn More text on the answer to spell it out, and say it again in your disclaimer.

If you want to display estimated monthly payments on a large one-off job, that is a different feature. See financing options, which shows what a job would cost per month under finance you already offer. Priceguide does not provide financing.

Can one estimator mix one-off and recurring services?

Yes. Price each answer according to what it actually is.

Does the emailed estimate show the split?

Yes, it follows the results page.

Can I show monthly and annual for the same thing?

Yes, and it helps customers who think in one or the other.

Email [email protected] if the split is not displaying how you expect.
