How to Set Zip Code or Phone Number as Required (or Optional)
Want to collect a Zip Code, a Phone Number, or both—before showing someone your pricing?
Now you can choose which fields are required, and which are optional, right inside your priceguide estimator.
It only takes a few clicks. Here’s how to do it
Step-by-Step: Set Required Fields
- Open Your Estimator
-
Head to your dashboard and click “Edit” on the estimator you want to update.

-
- Go to Step 5: Results Page Settings
-
Once inside the editor, click on Step 5: Results Page.

-
- Click “+ Show optional content customisation settings”
-
You’ll find this down the bottom left of the page. Click to expand more settings.

-
- Scroll Down to “Data Capture Options”
-
Keep scrolling until you see the section titled Data Capture Options.
-
- Set Your Required Fields
-
-
You’ll see checkboxes for fields like:
-
Name
-
Email
-
Zip Code
-
Phone Number
-
-
Tick the ones you want to make required.
-
Unticked = optional for users to fill out.

-
Pro Tip: Should You Require a Phone Number?
Making a phone number required will usually reduce the number of leads you get.
But the quality might go up—especially if you need to follow up by phone or work in high-touch industries like real estate, finance, or home services.
We recommend testing both options:
-
Try it required for 1–2 weeks
-
Then try it optional
-
Compare your lead volume and quality before deciding what works best for you.
